Mission
The Women’s and Children’s Alliance exists to provide safety, healing and freedom to victims of domestic abuse and sexual assault.

The Women's and Children's Alliance
Since 1980, the Women's & Children's Alliance (WCA) has been in the forefront of providing services to women and their children escaping violent circumstances. Since that time, the WCA’s crisis program has evolved into one of the most vital, unduplicated, comprehensive programs in our community and region. The Women’s and Children’s Alliance is proud to be a community leader in providing critically needed services to women and children victimized by domestic and sexual violence and was recently approved as a specialty substance abuse provider for pregnant and parenting women and women with children.

The WCA Currently Operates:

  • Secure emergency shelter (housing for 90-120 days)
  • Two transitional homes
  • Two 24-hour domestic violence and/or rape crisis hotlines
  • Individual counseling for adults and children
  • Group counseling for adults (ongoing) and children (at various times throughout the year)
  • Victim therapy and support groups
  • Case management
  • Rape victim advocacy
  • Court advocacy (for individuals experiencing domestic and/or sexual violence)
  • Child and adolescent outreach
  • Substance abuse counseling for women and their children

On-site childcare is available for women accessing on-site support groups and classes. You must call and give the WCA 24- hour notice if you need childcare for the support group and/or classes. The number is (208) 343-3688 ext 17.

Each year, the WCA shelters hundreds of women and their children. Approximately 75 percent of the women who come to the WCA bring children with them. The WCA provides education and awareness services throughout the community.

Supporting the WCA's programs is the The Shop. Individuals within the community contribute clothing, household items, and other valuables that may then be sold to the general public to generate revenue to support the WCA's ongoing work.
