First Responder DeliverFollowing the Domestic Violence Awareness Month Press Conference held on the afternoon of September 27, six teams of volunteers from Saint Alphonsus and staff from the Women’s and Children’s Alliance delivered 29 baskets of (healthy) treats to the first responders of Ada County. The baskets consisted of snacks generously provided by St. Al’s, along with thank you notes, WCA brochures, shoe cards, and drawings made by the kiddos in childcare.

The six teams were sent to locations all over Ada County – from the Ada County Paramedics Headquarters in Boise to Meridian, Eagle, Star, and Kuna. Each team visited paramedic stations, police departments, fire departments, or some combination of all three.  At each stop, our volunteers thanked the first responders for their work in the community and some teams even got to take pictures with the first responders present.

The first responders of Ada County are so important to both St. Al’s and the WCA, for the role they play in keeping people safe and helping the WCA achieve its mission of safety, healing, and freedom from domestic violence and sexual assault. This event honors the hard work that they do for the residents of Ada County. See the news story about the event here.
