Rediscovered Books hosted an extraordinary evening benefiting the WCA with Elizabeth Smart at the Grove Hotel on Thursday, April 5. Over 250 people attended this incredibly moving event. Elizabeth shared her personal survival from nine months of captivity as a teenager including days and nights of rape and sexual horror. At the hands of her abductors. Smart shared her insight and advocacy from her new book, “Where There’s Hope: Healing, Moving Forward and Never Giving Up.”
Smart called on others who have confronted adversity to help other in need, as she expressed the pathway to hope. Elizabeth shared her mission to help women and men coping with adversity and victims of sex trafficking around the country and throughout the world. It was a beautiful evening filled with hope and advocacy. The WCA thanks Elizabeth Smart for her kindness and compassion for the WCA’s work in the community and her incredibly powerful advocacy to help those suffering at the hands of abusers.
