Welcome WCA Fall Interns

We are fortunate to have a fantastic group of five interns at the WCA this fall working with both the Outreach and Communications and Philanthropy teams. Through these internship opportunities, the WCA is providing students with on-the-job training and educational opportunities that will help them obtain the knowledge and skills for the WCA and similar organizations to consider them as potential candidates for future job openings in the communications, public relations, advertising and other nonprofit fields. We are grateful for their fresh ideas and passion for our mission.

Diana Costanzo, Communications Intern
Studying Organizational Communication, Technical Communication, and Nonprofit Management

Hi, I’m Diana and I’m from Boise. I chose to intern at the WCA because of previous experience I had working with them for Sexual Assault Awareness Month last spring. I really connected with the WCA’s mission and I wanted to learn and do more to help survivors. I have two main career goals – one is to be a professor and one is to be an executive director of a non-profit. In either case, I will either study or work with populations similar to the ones the WCA serves. I am thankful for this opportunity to work with the WCA to grow my skills, further develop my passions, and get hands-on experience. Currently, I am working on social media content, writing projects, and doing branding for the WCA. If you want to ask me a question at one of our events, ask me about my dog, Hank.

Rileigh Crawford, Communications Intern
Studying Communication and Nonprofit Management

Hi, my name is Rileigh Crawford and I’m from Orofino, Idaho. I chose to intern at the WCA because our mission means a lot to me and I feel like I am contributing to an organization that is making a needed difference in our community. Because of this experience, I hope to continue working with other nonprofits. Through being at the WCA, I’ve met so many people who have inspired me and really helped me understand what I want to do and why I’m doing it. Some of the projects I will be working are include scheduling and planning social media posts and campaigns, as well as doing some outreach with Greek life on Boise State campus. If you come to the WCA and meet me, ask me about my scruffy, adult standard poodle named Logan and his dog roommate, Winston.

Rachel Godlesky, Philanthropy Intern
Studying Media Arts, Public Relations, and Nonprofit Management

Hello, I’m Rachel and I’m from Gilbert, AZ.  I wanted to intern at the WCA because I had heard the previous philanthropy manager, Diana Burrell, speak at Boise State and was inspired and intrigued by the work she did. Philanthropy wasn’t an area of public relations that I had explored much in my courses at Boise State. Being an intern at the WCA will help me continue to work in philanthropy or community engagement for a local nonprofit after graduation. I want to use my public relations skills to work directly with individuals to educate them and cultivate relationships. By working on the philanthropy team and with the Volunteer and Events Manager, I am able to witness those relationships being built. I will be designing flyers and signs for various events, planning events, receiving and organizing donations, and supporting the Volunteer and Events Manager and Philanthropy Specialist. Gabriella Hora, Communications Intern
Studying Communication, Psychology, and Nonprofit Management

My name is Gabby and I am from St. Helens, Oregon. I chose to intern for the WCA because of my passion and connection to the cause as well as the opportunities and responsibilities that I would be allowed in this position. My career goals are still taking shape, but I hope to someday work in communications/PR. I would love to work for a nonprofit organization similar to the WCA. I know that the multitude of experiences this internship allows me will help broaden my resume and portfolio for future opportunities. At the WCA, I am currently working on social media for domestic violence awareness month, including creating content for posts, scheduling social media, and reaching out to community partners. I will later work on a variety of projects including social media and outreach to our corporate pillars. If you meet me or see me at the WCA, ask me about my hometown and my favorite holiday!

Keri Lanemann, Philanthropy Intern
Studying Political Science and Public Law

My name is Keri and I am from Kansas City, Missouri. I chose to be an intern at the WCA because it aligns with my values and career goal of becoming a clinical social worker helping survivors of domestic abuse. I’m grateful to be able to learn more about the issues of domestic abuse and the programs and organizations that are here to help survivors. Being able to work with the WCA and their partners will increase my understanding of nonprofit organizations. I will be spending a most of my time doing volunteer organization for the WCA’s events.
