2020 PSA Contest!

24-Hour Domestic Violence Hotline: 208.343.7025 24-hour Rape Crisis Hotline: 208.345.7273 (RAPE)

February is recognized nationally as Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month. One in three adolescents in the U.S. is a victim of physical, sexual,PSA Contest Prizes emotional or verbal abuse from a dating partner. However, only 33% of teens who were in a violent relationship ever told anyone about the abuse (loveisrespect.org).

To bring light to this issue that affects so many young people in our community, the WCA hosts an annual PSA Contest to get young people talking and thinking about their relationships. These PSAs are intended to give teens the opportunity to inform their peers about what abusive relationships look like, the difference between unhealthy and healthy relationships, and the resources available to anyone who is struggling or has questions.

Students in the Treasure Valley are invited to create a 29-second video or a digital poster about teen dating violence and/or healthy relationships. The 2020 PSA Contest is open for submissions and we are excited to see what creative PSAs students produce!

This contest is open to any junior high or high school students in the Treasure Valley. There are hundreds of dollars in cash and prizes for the winners of each category!

The deadline for this contest is January 31st, 2020, and the winners will be announced mid-February. If you have any questions about the contest, please email Olivia at [email protected] or visit http://www.wcaboise.org/get-involved/psa/ for more information.
