Ambassadors enable the WCA to grow our services to help all members of our society reach their full potential and have safe healthy relationships. WCA Ambassadors do this by being our greatest supporters, our eyes and ears and bringing new supporters to our community. Spreading the messages of The WCA’s mission to bring safety, healing and freedom to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault through meaningful communications with your friends and family is invaluable to us. As we move into a new decade, we hope to grow our program while incorporating some exciting fresh updates.
Firstly, we hope to encourage much more interaction with our WCA staff through our bi-monthly meet-ups. Each meet up will have a theme that addresses one of our key service areas. We also plan to introduce a book club, giving you the opportunity to meet with other like-minded individuals to discuss topical books and articles every other month. Our Ambassador newsletter will also be getting an update, making sure that you are at the forefront of new information from The WCA.
Our February issue of The Ambassador Series focuses on teen domestic violence and our Prevention Team’s efforts to reduce the number of young people involved in domestic violence and sexual assault. The event will enable ambassadors to gain a wider understanding of the current picture of teen dating violence and hear from some of our Youth REPs who have assisted our staff to develop some exceptional programing in schools, to challenging perceptions.
We hope you will join us on this journey! If you are interested in learning more about our Ambassador Program, please get in touch with Laura Honn [email protected]
