A spotlight on corporate matching
Many people don’t realize that most companies offer substantial corporate matching programs to their employees. In a recent article published by global giving leader Benevity, it was reported that 87% of the USA workforce was unaware of their company’s corporate matching and philanthropy efforts in their community.
Corporate matching programs were created to help expand workplace giving and build rapport within the community. As a general rule of thumb, corporate matching encourages employees to donate to nonprofit organizations with the incentive that for every dollar donated, the company will match that donation. Additionally, many companies offer corporate matching for donations beyond just monetary sums–things like in-kind donations and even volunteering could be matched by your company’s program.
Many employers across Idaho have generous matching programs that mean you could further the impact of your donation to the WCA. For more information reach out to your organization’s HR and benefits department, or contact Philanthropy Manager Laura Honn ([email protected]) to learn more.
