As we close the door on October and enter into a season of giving, I wanted to take a moment to highlight the special WCA event known as the SueB 5k 10k. This year, it was challenging to have a virtual race and in-person races run at the same time. Despite this, the SueB 5K 10K was still a success. We were able to maintain past sponsors, gain new sponsors, create new partnerships and have new community members join us in supporting victims and survivors.
When reflecting on this month’s theme “What Does Kindness Look Like to You?” I think about the SueB 5k 10k. It takes immense amounts of time and effort to make SueB happen each year. Countless hours, expertise and individuals are involved to make it a successful and special event. Some keep the memory of a sister or friend alive year after year by participating in SueB. Some want to provide a fun and supportive environment for our community to participate in healthy movement. Others are involved to support a cause that is important to them. Whatever the reason, everyone is involved because of kindness; kindness in Sue’s memory, kindness in support of the WCA and kindness in making this event inclusive and accessible to everyone.
Thank you to all those who participated this year. We hope that we can facilitate an in-person race next year. We’re also looking forward to continuing our partnership Rewith Idaho Access Project to make this event more accessible to everyone in the community. Your participation truly helps us spread awareness that there is help available and YOU ARE NOT ALONE!
The SueB 5k 10k was a success this year because of our community’s overwhelming kindness and support. We thank you.
Thank you to our amazing sponsors:
