SUSAN P. SHERLOCK TRAINING SCHOLARSHIP FUND
Dr. Susan P. (Hayden) Sherlock lived a wonderful life and changed the lives of countless people – clients, friends and family.
Her deep concern for the advancement, growth and development of women-led Sue to become a board member of the YWCA and a founding member of the Women’s Crisis Center at the WCA where skills development and training helped women break the cycle of abuse.
The Susan P. Sherlock Training Scholarship Fund provides a permanent endowment to support educational and skills training scholarships. This much-needed, positive addition to the WCA programs will continue to grow with contributions from individuals, companies, and foundations in recognition of Sue Sherlock’s long-term efforts to help women in crisis – and in recognition of the need for such a program in our area.
Local community institutions will provide training to develop immediately marketable vocational job skills. On-the-job experience opportunities will be made available through partnerships with local organizations with the objective of leading to permanent placements with local companies.
