Since the beginning of the 2014-2015 academic year, the WCA has received amazing support from two Greek Organizations at Boise State University. As domestic violence and sexual assault are the areas of philanthropy for both the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority and the Alpha Kappa Lambda Fraternity at BSU, we have had the opportunity to work with some truly inspiring and wonderful students.
The ladies of Alpha Chi Omega hosted a candlelit vigil in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month on October 20th. The women lit candles, reported statistics of the prominence of abuse and assault to their peers, allowed representatives of the WCA to speak, and held a minute of silence for all victims of domestic violence. It was a beautiful night and an amazing event to be a part of.
The men of Alpha Kappa Lambda are currently in the midst of a fundraiser benefitting the WCA. Throughout November they have been raising awareness and money across their campus through events, a raffle, and information tables. On December 3rd they will be having a No Shave November event, with all proceeds benefitting the WCA. Find more information here.
