It is with a fond farewell that we say goodbye to Sunday. Sunday served as a therapy dog in the Ada County Courthouse for eight years helping crime victims – especially children – get through the stressful and sometimes traumatic criminal justice system.
In 2016, the Women’s and Children’s Alliance honored Sunday with a Tribute to Women and Industry (TWIN) award for her service to the community.
Sunday served over 16,500 hours as a therapy dog. She was trained at Canine Companions for Independence in Santa Rosa, California and was the first Courthouse Facility Dog in the state of Idaho. After eight years of service to the people of Ada County, 10-year-old Sunday can now enjoy the plentiful belly-rubs of retired life.
The Women’s and Children’s Alliance thanks Sunday for her service to the many victims she lent her support to in the past eight years.
