Support is Crucial, Outreach is Critical

What a week… I am grateful to our community for their generous support of our Healing Begins with Hope Outreach and Fundraising Event last week. One of the most important objectives of our annual event, for me, is outreach—making sure our community knows we are here for them and that there is HOPE if they find themselves in an abusive relationship. If you were not able to join us, click here to view the video.

I continue to focus on being grateful for the freedoms I have, including the freedom to exercise my right to vote and express my opinions and participate in healthy, open discourse with family and friends. While these things may be causing stress for many of you, I implore you to practice self-care and look for grace where you can find it. There are many learning and growth opportunities and situations to celebrate differences, strengthen bonds, and find new collaborative solutions.

“We must not be enemies. Though passion may have strained, it must not break our bonds of affection.”     – Abraham Lincoln, Inaugural Speech, 1861

While not all problems will find resolutions immediately, my hope is that we can pause and take the time to celebrate what we do have.
