Change Happens Here!

Next week is NO MORE Week—during which we raise awareness of ways that individuals throughout our community can help us work toward reducing all forms of violence. When you think about change, it happens on so many levels. However, most importantly, it begins with each one of us. Collectively, if we are all working to effect the same change, it can become community-wide and begin to change outcomes.

Let’s start with the change that individuals go through when they walk through our doors. This simple first step can be monumental for an individual who has suffered, or is still suffering, from trauma resulting from domestic abuse and/or sexual assault. They are ready for a change in their lives, and they have come seeking services to assist them on that journey.

Change is never easy and often comes at a price. However, if we hold fast to the vision of what we want to accomplish, it can give us the strength to persevere through the tough times. Providing support to those making difficult changes is at the heart of what we do—whether through safe shelter, case management, counseling, group sessions, childcare, court advocacy, financial empowerment, or other life skills classes. Our services offer and individual opportunities to learn a skill while also feeling accepted and encouraged on their path.

Our vision is a community where individuals thrive in safe and healthy relationships. Please join us by participating in NO MORE Week March 7-13, 2021, because #ChangeHappensHere and it starts with you.

I say NO MORE to domestic abuse and sexual assault. I hope you will join me. Engage in this conversation and help create lasting change!
