Update from Lisa Uhlmann, Corporate Program Manager

Greetings!

We hope you are able to stay cool in this exceptionally hot weather. We are busy gathering backpacks, supplies, clothes, and other much-needed items for our school-aged clients who will be starting a new school year next month. Last week the rock star Mini Joys, a wonderful nonprofit with mini horses created by a fabulous 2019 Forever TWIN, Laurie Bell, paid a visit to the children and women at the shelter campus. Two adorable celebrity mini horses, Wrangler and Sophie, visited the shelter campus and received some TLC including brushing and lots of hugs from the children.

We are also in the midst of registering individuals and teams for the 12th Annual Virtual SueB 5k/10k race that will run from Sunday, October 3 to Saturday, October 9. For more information please visit the online sign registration link.

We would love to have you join us that week to honor the memory of Susan “SueB’ Newby to promote healthy relationships while raising important funds for the WCA’s Endowment Fund.

Thank you so much for being there for our clients. We absolutely couldn’t provide essential and potentially life-saving services without your support. Please let me know if you need additional information about the WCA’s work, our in-person and virtual tours, and/or our current needs.

Wishing you a very relaxing July.

With utmost gratitude,

Lisa
