The WCA was honored to be offered an office at the Ada County Courthouse in August. In addition to the Court Advocacy services provided at our Washington Street location, our dedicated staff will have office hours on the fourth floor of the courthouse Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from 10 am – 4:30 pm. The courthouse location allows our staff to be more available for accompaniment to emergency civil protection order (CPO) hearings, assistance at the time of filing a CPO, providing legal referrals for CPO’s and/or family law matters, as well as offer support during the court process.
Since the introduction of the stalking and harassment civil protection order statute, our staff has seen a 100% + increase in the number of protection order cases in Ada County. In fact, Court Advocacy is the most requested of our services among new clients. Thank you to the Ada County Courthouse for allowing us to be even more accessible to the growing number of clients navigating protection order and family law processes.
The WCA has a long-standing partnership with the Ada County Court system and is involved with most protection order proceedings from the beginning — providing basic information about the process to being a source of emotional support for the petitioner(s) before, during and after proceedings take place.
