This month the Philanthropy Team would like to introduce ourselves. Our purpose within the WCA is to engage members of the community in volunteer, in-kind donations and financial support of our mission of safety, healing and freedom from domestic abuse and sexual assault. The compassion and passion of others who share our vision of fostering a community where individuals thrive in safe, healthy relationships inspires us daily. We also bring our own passion to our work. We share our passion and why we say #NoMore below:

“I am passionate about the WCA because it not only provides a safe haven for those in abusive relationships but gives them the resources and support needed to rebuild their lives. The WCA helps families heal and thrive while promoting awareness of domestic abuse and sexual assault to the community. Education and compassion are the keys to making the community a safer place for all.”
Elizabeth Hoene, Donor Support Specialist
“If we want to thrive as human beings we must elevate our treatment of each other. Abuse costs all of us and the price is unacceptable, mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. We can do better as a society and through the WCA and agencies like it I believe we will.”
Diana Burrell, Philanthropy Manager
“I attended the Healing Begins with Hope Breakfast in 2010. I was at the same time horrified by the enormity of domestic abuse and sexual assault in our community and inspired by the courage and strength of survivors. Seven years later, my passion to empower women, men and children to believe in themselves and that they deserve – we all deserve – to be treated with respect and love continues to grow. I am gratified and honored to a part of an organization that helps so many of our neighbors find that empowerment. Together, we can break the cycle of abuse, end rape culture and stop victim blaming.”
Emily Fascilla, Philanthropy Specialist
“1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men are not only unbelievable numbers, they’re unacceptable numbers. The cycle of violence is so pervasive in our society and when left alone, only perpetuates. As individuals come through our doors at the WCA and heal through our counseling, nurturing parenting classes and wrap around services, we break that cycle of violence. One woman, man, and child at a time. I love this organization because it’s not temporary bandaid or a quick fix. It’s a new beginning. It’s a culture shift.”
