This summer we were lucky enough to be invited to participate in the Out and About Teen Summer Camp put on by the City of Boise Parks & Recreation and the Whitney Community Center. Each week, we focused on different skills for healthy relationships such as:
Thanks to generous donations of supplies by our community, we were able to use art and physical activities to illustrate these skills, because camp shouldn’t feel like summer school!
It’s not often that we get the chance to interact with young people and increase their knowledge about healthy relationships outside of the school setting. Our staff had so much fun going to summer camp each week! It was truly a unique experience, and one that we hope to continue.
Our relationships with community partners are invaluable to the work that we do. This opportunity would not have been possible without collaboration and a shared commitment to make our community the best that it can be!
