Meet our new Outreach Coordinator, Becca Maguire! Becca M.

How long have you been with the WCA?

I am the new Outreach Coordinator, and I have been in this position for a little over a month and a half.

What does that position cover?

I will be educating the community on domestic abuse, sexual assault, and the different services the WCA offers.

What is your background in?

I previously worked at Crane Creek as the Activities Director, and before that I was an AmeriCorps VISTA working on food insecurity. I have my Bachelor’s of Science in Sociology and a Master’s in Community Leadership.

What brought you to the WCA?

I started getting involved with the WCA after seeing, “The Hunting Ground.” After watching that documentary, I felt like I needed to do something, so I became an Outreach Volunteer.  That led me to the Outreach Coordinator position!

What is most rewarding about this position?

I think the best part of my job is knowing that I will be making an impact on my community. I believe that education is a key way to end domestic abuse, and I am excited to have those conversations.

What do you look forward to as you continue in this position?

I am looking forward to getting out in the community and making connections.

We’re so excited to have Becca join us on the Outreach and Communications Team!
