One in Four. You may have heard this before. One in four women will experience domestic abuse at some point in her life. Here at the WCA we offer two on-site tours every month, and we also have a “tour in a box” that we take out into the community—to businesses, homes, churches—anywhere someone wants to spread the word about the WCA. Many times as we’re speaking, we see heads nodding, or even tears being shed. We always follow up with those who have seen the presentation, and during those calls I often have women share their own story. Professional women. Students. Young women. Older women. Wealthy or not. Highly educated or not. “I was that woman.” “I was that child.” “That was my mom.” We hear of the incredible courage it took them to become the person they are today—the person who wants to become involved with the WCA and make a difference for others. I’m humbled by their strength and generosity.

One in Four. It holds true in our community.

A sincere thank you to all of you who have come to our tours. Please join them and sign up for one today here.
