June Newsletter:
Healthy Relationships Are Equal

The BeaLine (YouTube video)

Bea Black, CEO

Hard to believe but we are already in June. We are barreling towards the end of the year and what a year we have gone through. In June we want to focus on healthy relationships. We also want to acknowledge that when we talk about this we must include the LGBTQIA+ community and men. What I am brought back to is, “how do we define a healthy relationship?” We think about mutual respect, equality and equity. If you or someone you know has experienced domestic, dating or sexual violence, please call our 24-hour hotline: 208.343.7025.

In February we switched to one email a month for the WCA.

Joyce Stein Memorial Award

The Joyce Stein Memorial Award is given in memory of Boisean Joyce Ann Stein, a long-time friend and supporter of the WCA (YWCA). Each year a Treasure Valley resident that has made a positive impact on the growth and advancement of women is honored.  Nominations are welcomed from individuals, businesses and organizations. The nominee does not need to be distinguished by title or office, but rather by his or her efforts on behalf of women.

Nominations for the 2021 Joyce Stein Memorial Award will be accepted from April 30 – July 1, 2021.

Poster Print-outs Available

Another way we reach vulnerable people is through posters that can be displayed in public bathrooms. We recently heard from Albertson’s corporate offices that they have these posters displayed in their women’s and men’s restrooms to reach people who may need our services.

Click here for a link to print posters if you know of somewhere that could benefit!
