February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month. 1 in 3 teens finds themselves in an abusive relationship, whether that’s sexual, physical, emotional—it’s a horrific statistic. One of the things that we do all year, but particularly during the month of February, is outreach to our junior highs and high schools. We have a presentation that focuses on healthy and unhealthy relationships, and an interactive simulation called, “In Their Shoes,” that allows participants to make decisions acting as a character who is in an unhealthy relationship. Something you can do to support this cause is to wear orange on February 11th to bring attention to Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month. You can also check out other activities and events that are listed here in the newsletter to see how you can join in. Help us spread the word. Help us help our young folks understand what a healthy relationship is, and that they deserve nothing but a healthy relationship. Thank you.
