As we venture into a new year, I wanted to reflect on the generous holiday spirit of 2019. Every year, the WCA tries to ensure our clients have a wonderful holiday season and are provided with much needed items for many months to come. We cannot do this without the generous support of our incredible community. Thanks to the kindness of more than 60 individuals and businesses, 85 client families (152 individuals) received several gifts of both fun and needed items to make their holiday season bright. In addition, thanks to our friends at the Downtown Boise Association and Idaho Central Credit Union, the WCA hosted its annual Giving Tree program. Items needed for our shelter, child care and facilities were printed on colorful tags that were hung around the fence of the Boise Grove Plaza Christmas Tree in November and December. We received more than 3,000 items to help keep us stocked for three to six months.

Our hearts are full, and we are so humbled by the generosity of everyone who participated in these two programs that make sure our clients and their children have everything they need for their healing and freedom from domestic abuse and sexual assault. Special thanks to our hard- working, kind, and incredibly generous volunteers who are essential in making these programs thrive each year.

We would like to thank the following businesses and organizations who contributed to our Holiday Sponsorship Program and Giving Tree in 2019: Stantec, A1 Plumbing and Perfect Air, Idaho Trust Bank, ChargeItPro, KLA Corporation, Zasio Enterprises, Inc., Tyler Driever Racing, The Nature Conservancy in Idaho, Replenish Boise, Eagle High School, Alexander Orthodontics, Mike Brown Group – Silvercreek Realty Group, The Curb Bar and Grill, Norco Medical, College of Western Idaho, Tom Heffner: Allstate Insurance, Boise Brewing, Aspen Capital Management, Boise Co-op, The Gem Center for the Arts, St. Luke’s Health System, Eagle Fitness, ECCO, Multiquip Inc., Sunwest Bank, Templeton Real Estate GroupUnited Heritage Life Insurance Company, Albertsons, Idaho Power, PMR – Premier Mortgage Resources LLC – NMLS #1169, CSHQA, NOAA Fisheries Service, Washington Trust Bank, Pride Mental Health, Musgrove Engineering, P.A., Balsam Brands – Downtown Boise, Daughters of the British Empire in Idaho, Engineered Structures, Inc.
