Sporting Clays Fundraiser Raises Over $12,000 for Women’s & Children’s Alliance

Fourth-annual event hosted by Washington Federal doubles funds raised in 2018

BOISE, Idaho – Tuesday, June 18, 2019 – The Women’s and Children’s Alliance (WCA) received a donation in the amount of $12,200 from Washington Federal, following the organization’s 2019 Sporting Clays Check presentation at WCA 2Fundraiser held on June 5, 2019, in Emmett, Idaho. The fourth-annual fundraising event helps support the WCA’s safe shelter, serving women and children leaving abusive and potentially dangerous relationships.

“Washington Federal’s support of our clients during a very vulnerable time in their life means so much.  We are always honored to be included in this unique event,” said Bea Black, WCA Executive Director.

Fundraising efforts this year surpassed those from the previous three years combined. This year’s event exceeded the organizers’ goal to double last year’s total funds raised of $5,410.

In addition to funds raised during the sporting clays event, Washington Federal presented a $15,000 grant from their Foundation to the WCA for a total gift of $27,200 to support safe shelter along with the wrap around support services received by clients while residing in their shelters.Foundation check presentation with Bea

“The WCA is a vital resource to our community and Washington Federal is proud to support their work through this fundraising event over the past four years,” said Tom Van Hemelryck, Washington Federal Idaho Region President.

Eighty-three participants joined the WCA, Washington Federal, co-host NexTitle and title sponsor Cutting Edge Landscape at Rock Creek Shooting in Emmett to compete in sporting clay competitions and bid on live and silent auction items.
