Two WCA volunteers raising awareness about the WCA at a fundraiser last month. Outreach volunteers inform the community about WCA services and general WCA information.

The Women’s and Children’s Alliance spreads awareness about domestic abuse and sexual assault and information about our services in the community at every chance we get.

We are extremely fortunate to have so many organizations and businesses engaged with us in the Treasure Valley. We’ve been lucky to have been present at multiple events so far this summer.

People of every background can experience domestic abuse and sexual assault. This is why the WCA’s presence at different community events is so important. Everyone deserves a safe, healthy relationship and a life free of abuse.

We were invited to table at One Stone’s first ever Tri-Fit Challenge that raises awareness about mental health and first responders at the end of May. They hope to continue this end of year fair annually.

Many organizations host fundraisers for us and request outreach materials or a presence at the event. We attended the Cruisin’ Hidden Springs Car Show and the WCA Night at Meridian Speedway sponsored by the Idaho CDL Training.

Sysco invited us to table with them at Savor Idaho. Savor Idaho brings together chefs, winemakers, brew masters and others with an interest in the food and beverage community from across the state for this event.

We hosted a table at both Pride Fest and World Refugee Day. Both took place in downtown Boise the same weekend. Connecting and engaging with the community at different events lets Boiseans know that our services are free and confidential to everyone.

If you or someone you know is hosting an event in the community let us know by emailing [email protected] !

Going out into the community and creating awareness around the services we offer while also educating community members about sexual assault and domestic violence is an important part of our vision: to foster a community where individuals thrive in safe, healthy relationships.
