WCA Volunteers Honored: Danielle Swerin and Dahn Lyttle

Danielle SwerinTwo of our long-term volunteers were honored recently in the community for their important work with our clients.

Our dedicated and compassionate court advocate volunteer for many years, Danielle Swerin, received the Jefferson Award in August from KNIN Fox 9. The Jefferson Award is a national recognition honoring those that contribute positively to their community. In addition to helping guide our clients through the court process as a court advocate volunteer, Danielle is a Lecturer in the Department of Criminal Justice at Boise State University who specializes in victimology and victim services. Danielle is a former staff member at the WCA and she has continued to serve our clients in a volunteer capacity during her tenure at Boise State. We appreciate her hard work and commitment to helping our clients as they navigate their journey toDahn Lyttleward healing. Watch her interview on KNIN Fox 9 here.

Another Jefferson Award Winner and our Child Care volunteer of eight years, Dahn Lyttle, recently won the Pioneer Federal Community Champion Award. He was honored at the August 10 Boise Hawks game with a $5,000 donation to the WCA in honor of his valued work with our children. His kindness, humor and compassion make a vital difference in the lives of our young clients. Read more about Dahn here.

Congratulations to these two incredible volunteers!
