3.2.18 No More event 026If you head down to the Boise Bicycle Project (BBP) on the first Friday of every month, you will find a group of bike lovers with helmets in hand, bicycles geared up, and safety lights flashing, ready to embark on a social ride. This is a night for all to explore the Boise community and share in the love of biking together.  This month, BBP teamed up with the WCA and Lost Grove Brewing to kick off NO MORE Week.

The group met at BBP to go over some safety guidelines for riding in a large group, and then headed to the WCA to learn about our services and why NO MORE Week is important to raise awareness for domestic abuse and sexual assault. Members of the group learned about our areas of safety, healing, and freedom, as well as ways they could get more involved in the WCA’s mission. The ride concluded at Lost Grove Brewery to make NO MORE Signs, which stirred difficult, yet inspiring conversations about an issue that has affected so many members of our community.

The Boise Bicycle Project has been a great partner of the WCA, and is helping to provide additional awareness and services to those that we serve. BBP has helped WCA clients receive bikes for their children, and you can always find our clothesline project hanging in their shop during the month of October, as well as shoe cards around the shop with our crisis hotlines. They are fully dedicated to creating positive social change through the tool of the bicycle. Thank you to BBP and Lost Grove for helping us to foster a community where individuals can thrive in safe and healthy relationships. Together we are stronger.
