Meeting challenges and walking away from life as we have known
Dear Friends,
I hope this message finds you well. We have been very busy here at the WCA! With our programs staff maintaining full client schedules and high levels of requests for services from the community — we are grateful to still be at full capacity with service offerings. And we are moving forward with some exciting virtual events, we hope you will join us.
Next week we are holding our 27th Annual TWIN (Tribute to Women and Industry) Celebration. For the WCA, this will be our first ever VIRTUAL TWIN “lunch” and in fact our first ever major VIRTUAL event.
When you have been doing things the same way for 26 years, you have a roadmap and action plan to follow. When we first started talking about transforming this “lunch” into a virtual event, we had to start from scratch. A number of new steps had to be integrated into the planning process — and that was after we figured out what those new steps needed to be.
While changing up traditions or expectations can be challenging, I am so proud of the WCA team for embracing these challenges and re-imagining this event to become an even bigger celebration. In this new virtual world, TWIN honorees, the 1,050 past TWIN honorees and our corporate sponsors will have the opportunity to share this special day with more people. In the past, we were limited to the number of people the room could hold…. The TWIN event next week can be enjoyed by those here in the Treasure Valley, throughout the state, but also those outside of Idaho and even around the world. Sometimes when we either choose to, or are forced to, give up old ways of doing things, we are able to grow in ways we did not anticipate — we end up the better for it.
We are privileged to be here for our clients when they find themselves in this same position — of having to meet challenges and potentially walk away from life as they have known it.
Gratefully,
P.S. We would love for you to join us on September 1 at noon for our virtual TWIN event, please register here and we will send you the link. “See” you there!
