The holidays are upon us! During this time of year, many of us overwhelm ourselves with trying to plan the perfect family gathering, attending holiday parties and buying gifts for everyone we have ever known.
Something we often lose sight of is taking care of ourselves. Allowing yourself the time and space to breath. Amid the chaos, taking care of yourself often comes in second. However, it is important – perhaps more so in times of stress.
Make yourself the number one priority and take a little time for yourself. Remember, you are enough and you are important. The gift of your peace of mind and a healthy body is the most important thing you can give yourself and those who care about you this holiday season.
Most importantly? Have compassion for yourself. You are enough and what you do for others is amazing, but what you do to deliberately take care of yourself is the best gift you can give.
The Compassion Project: Let us be the ones who transform our world by allowing compassion to lead our action. Throughout the year, this column will feature the various ways to have compassion for others, for our specific organization, and for yourself.
