How long have you practiced law?
23 years
What drove you to pursue law?
Wanted a new challenge – my prior profession was as a special education teacher.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself, or something you enjoy!
I love to travel and have traveled to Europe, Hong Kong, Mexico, Canada and Australia.
How long have you been involved with the Women’s and Children’s Alliance and how did you first get involved?
About three years I think. I was approached by Christina King when she was in charge of the volunteer attorneys at the WCA.
What drives your passion for continuing the great work that you do with the Women’s and Children’s Alliance?
I know how much the clients of the WCA need assistance with understanding the law and how it impacts their life/situation. I enjoy meeting the people I consult with and helping them.
What is something you wish more people knew about the issues you face when helping domestic abuse and sexual assault survivors?
I wish more people knew how certain circumstances put women and children in unhealthy and sometimes dangerous situations that are often difficult for them to extricate themselves from.
