GRANT SUPPORTS FINANCIAL LITERACY FOR DOMESTIC & SEXUAL ABUSE SURVIVORS
Allstate Foundation awards the Women’s and Children’s Alliance a grant for $10,000 to support the Treasure Valley Economic Action Program
Boise, ID – The Allstate Foundation has awarded the Women’s and Children’s Alliance (WCA) a grant for $10,000 to support the Treasure Valley Economic Action Program (TVEAP) that provides financial literacy training.
“For more than 60 years, The Allstate Foundation has used the relationships, reputation and resources of Allstate to support innovative and lasting solutions that enhance people’s well-being and prosperity. We are proud to include Women’s and Children’s Alliance as a partner in building safer neighborhoods and stronger communities,” said Frank Clouser, Allstate Corporate Relations Manager.
The financial literacy course, a multi-agency collaboration, provides individuals with empowering knowledge and skills that move domestic violence victims to survivors with the skills to create long-term financial stability for themselves and their families. More than 387 women have participated in the classes and 78 percent have graduated. Additionally, more than 125 individual financial coaching sessions have been held.
“We’re grateful for the Allstate Foundation’s support in helping us provide our clients with empowering tools to enjoy the freedom that comes from having financial choices,” said Bev LaChance, WCA Deputy Director.
