For the seventh year in a row, the WCA partnered with Saint Alphonsus to honor the important role first responders play in our community as we kick-off Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Employee volunteers from both organizations joined together to deliver goodie baskets filled with healthy snacks to 28 first responder locatoins throughout Ada County on September 26. This is the fourth year for the deliveries after the Domestic Violence Awareness Month Press Conference in which more than 80 community leaders, first responders and community members help proclaim October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
A combined 32 WCA staff members and Saint Alphonsus volunteers generously delivered the baskets to honor the first responders who are so important to the WCA’s mission of safety, healing and freedom from domestic abuse and sexual assault. It was a day filled with fun, gratitude, and great conversation.
Thank you to all who volunteered to make this event so meaningful to our Ada County first responders and to Saint Alphonsus for generously providing all the treats for the baskets. We are grateful for your partnership and commitment to our mission!
