The Women’s and Children’s Alliance is fast approaching the four year mark of its collaborative partnership in the Treasure Valley Economic Action Program(TVEAP).  Originally involving six valley agencies whose focus was on domestic violence, TVEAP has added three partner agencies.  The focus of the collaborative has been to provide financial literacy education to victims of domestic violence.  The evidence-based curriculum strives to empower women to achieve financial independence and economic self-determination through education and advocacy.  To date, 595 women have participated with a graduation rate of 85%.  One-on one coaching sessions have been facilitated with 19% of the graduates.  As one client put it, “I have learned so much.  I now know how to budget and what is needed to restore my credit.  Thank you for a new lease on life.”

If you or someone you know need help, call our 24-hour confidential domestic violence hotline at 208.343.7025 or visit our website www.wcaboise.org for more information.
