Nagel Foundation Supports Shelter for Domestic Abuse Victims
The Women’s and Children’s Alliance (WCA) has been awarded a grant of $30,000 from the John F. Nagel Foundation. The funds will be used to maintain the WCA’s emergency and transitional shelter programs for 15 families for a two-month period.
In the past 12 months, the WCA has provided 9,568 safe bed nights to 169 women and children. This means they were able to sleep without fear – something most people take for granted.
“The WCA is honored to receive this grant from the John F. Nagel Foundation,” said Bea Black, WCA Executive Director. “It underscores their commitment to ensure that critical shelter services are available to those escaping domestic and/or sexual violence.”
In addition to safe shelter, the WCA offers case management, counseling, court advocacy, education and a variety of other integrated services and programs to women, men and children victimized by abuse.
“The John F. Nagel Foundation is pleased to again support the WCA with this grant,” said Nagel Foundations’ Curt Goldgrabe. “The Foundation’s focus is to help people with great basic needs, and the work of the WCA meets people at their time of great need.”
