2014 has been quite a year. As it comes to a close I am once again humbled and inspired as I think back on all that has taken place and the number of individuals whose lives have been changed by their involvement with this wonderful organization. Many individuals have received services (in many instances these have been lifesaving services) and even more individuals have helped us to provide those services. Our awesome staff is supported by a generous community who has given not only of their treasure – but also of their time and talents in order that our clients and their children are able to find safety, healing and the freedom to live healthy lives.
As the discussions around the issues of domestic violence and sexual assault have received more publicity both nationally and locally, we have seen requests for our outreach presentations expand. We have been in front of more people, raising awareness of the magnitude of the problems we deal with. Working to enlist the help of our community in breaking the cycle continues to be our top priority and I feel good that we have made significant progress this year. However – much remains to be done and we look forward to enlisting your support as we move into 2015.
Meanwhile, I wish you and your loved ones a blessed and joyful holiday season.
