Women’s and Children’s Alliance Announces Annual Student Video Contest

Boise, ID – The Women’s and Children’s Alliance (WCA) is excited to announce the 2015 Public Service Announcement (PSA) Contest for middle school, high school, and college students in the state of Idaho.

The contest requires students to submit a 29-second original PSA video on the topic of domestic abuse, teen dating violence, or healthy relationships. All submissions for the contest are due by midnight on Friday, January 30, 2015. Winners in each category will be announced in February at a community viewing party, in honor of Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month (TDVAM). Winners will receive a cash prize and online recognition.

“Unhealthy relationships can start early and last a lifetime. We believe everyone deserves to be in a safe and healthy relationship and are committed to breaking the cycle of violence and silence through increased awareness and youth education about abuse and healthy relationships,” said Chris Campbell-Davis, WCA Communications Manager.

The PSA Contest is designed to give students an opportunity to reach out and educate their peers in their own voice. The WCA plans to use winning videos to further spread the message to other students and the general public throughout the coming year.

Last year’s winning entries were submitted by Kavan Hess (Capital High School), Natasha Dacic (Boise High School) and Nicole Orlovich (Boise High School).
