In order to achieve the WCA vision of fostering a community where individuals thrive in safe, healthy relationships we realize that we need to be focusing some of our efforts on the next generation, to help ensure that they will never need our services. This is why the WCA is particularly excited to roll out the first stages of a new program that is geared specifically toward young people in our community: The WCA Student Champion Program.
WCA Student Champions will be agents of change working to educate their peers and start conversations about healthy relationships within their own circles. The Champions will be working with the WCA outreach team to build skills and get the tools they need to create futures free of domestic abuse. As strong believers in the power of peer education, we hope that the Champion Program will encourage discussions about healthy relationships among young people throughout the Boise community.
If you are a junior high school, high school, or college student interested in getting involved with this program, or if you know students who might be interested in getting involved, please check out the Student Champion 101 program breakdown for more information and next steps.
