What does it take to change a culture?  To shift a mindset? Unfortunately, what I have seen over the years is that there is only one thing that truly works – and that is to raise awareness of an issue by educating people.  People have to believe that there is an issue before they are willing to do anything about it.  With April being sexual assault awareness month, that is exactly what we are trying to do.  Through our social media efforts, our outreach efforts and wearing our jeans on Denim Day – Thursday, April 27th.  You can help us in these efforts by sharing posts that you find particularly compelling and by talking to friends and family about why everyone should wear jeans on Denim Day!  What studies tell us with respect to shifting cultures is that you need to have about 10% of a community start to support an effort – to be willing to strive together to effect change.  I believe that we can reach this bar if you are all willing to help us!
