On April 5, the Women’s and Children’s Alliance was honored to present the 23rd annual Tribute to Women and Industry (TWIN) Luncheon at the Boise Centre. The 2016 TWIN Awards Luncheon was truly remarkable.
TWIN Honorary Chair and ESI President Neil Nelson beautifully shared his personal insight on why the WCA means so much to him and his family. Neil also talked about the importance of the WCA’s work for clients who have experienced domestic violence and sexual assault.
Teri Stein presented the Joyce Stein Award to the Ahlquist family, Tommy and Shanna and their children Thomas, Brooklyn, Allie and Chloe. The Ahlquist family exemplifies how one family can make a profound difference in building a better world. At TWIN, Tommy shared words from his son Thomas on how the WCA is a guardian of hope for women and children seeking freedom from domestic abuse and sexual assault—this is only possible through community members like the Ahlquist family.
The 2016 TWIN Honorees included 53 extraordinary women and Sunday, the Ada County Courthouse dog. These women and Sunday are unique individuals who are not only shining examples in their professional lives, but also in their dedication to our community.
