Happy July! This month we are celebrating Independence, Empowerment and Resilience. In lieu of our theme, I wanted to share some statistics and information about the phenomenal work our clinical team is doing to heal and empower our clients in their journey toward freedom from domestic abuse and sexual assault.

I don’t know about each of you, but I have spent many hours racking, unfolding, and contemplating the uncertainties and constant stressors of wellness and safety throughout this last year and how it is affecting the long-term mental health of our clients and loved ones. In all this, I continually come back to our mission of healing; that we must create space for patience, kindness and grace to carry with our mental and emotional selves.

As you might be aware, as an organization we have faced and continue to face remarkable challenges to provide the level of care and healing we need for our community. I can confidently say and celebrate that the support of our community to spread the word of our services, volunteer and further help us find the best people to expand our clinical team has provided outstanding impact and healing for our clients. We are committed to the safety of each individual connected to us and the long-term care that is needed to get our clients and community from a place of surviving to thriving.

From January 2021 to June 2021 our waitlist for adult and child counseling services has decreased by 62%. In the month of June alone, our clinical team held a total of 213 adult and child therapy sessions for our residential and community clients and expanded their capacity to provide for 23 new clients.

These statistics truly showcase the investment our community has in us and furthermore our investment to meet the needs of our community the best we can. This is just a quick reminder of the work we are all doing to heal lives, and yet there is still so much more work to be done to end domestic violence.

In resiliency and empowerment,
Bre
