Corporate Pillars Spotlight: E.W. Scripps

24-Hour Domestic Violence Hotline: 208.343.7025 24-hour Rape Crisis Hotline: 208.345.7273 (RAPE)

During this time of giving thanks we would like to highlight one of our fabulous corporate pillars: The E.W. Scripps Company. Earlier this year, E.W. Scripps acquired the Journal Broadcast Group stations here in Idaho. This included the KIVI 6 On Your Side television station and 94.9 The River FM radio station. Dan McColly, the Creative Services Director at KIVI-TV for E.W. Scripps, states that “While community has always been woven into the fabric of what we do, we are pleased that Scripps has a longstanding nationwide reputation of ‘doing well by doing good.’  This, together with Scripps’ deep commitment to comprehensive, responsible journalism will only serve to expand our ability to inform, enlighten and support families living in southwest Idaho.”

Scripps truly does live out this commitment to not only journalism, but supporting their community. This is seen through E.W. Scripps support of the WCA as a corporate pillar. McColly also values this partnership writing that, “We’ve been proud to support the much-needed work of the WCA for years in a variety of ways, including naming them as beneficiary for the River’s annual Concert for Cause event; a partnership we greatly value.”

Each year the Knitting Factory hosts Concert for Cause. This year is the 14 annual Concert for Cause and we are excited to have Houndmouth playing on December 9; doors open at 6 p.m. and the show starts at 6:30 p.m. The proceeds from ticket sales and the live and silent auction all benefit the WCA.  Our Director Bea Black adds, “During this month of Thanksgiving one of the many things we are grateful for here at the WCA is the continued support of our community and specifically The River and being the beneficiary of Concert for Cause!  Come rock the Knitting Factory with us on December 9!” We hope to see everyone there and thank you to E.W. Scripps for their tremendous support of the WCA as a corporate pillar. Please visit The River’s website and the Knitting factory’s website to learn more about Concert for Cause. You can also purchase tickets here.
