Hillcrest Country Club3The Hillcrest Country Club Ladies Golf Association held a special tournament event to benefit the WCA on May 22nd.  The breakfast, raffle and tournament ultimately raised $5,075 for the Women’s and Children’s Alliance! The tournament was organized by co-chairs Callie Novak and Denise Crownover.

Ms. Crownover explained why they chose to hold this year’s event for the WCA. “The golf event is held to support an organization focused on women’s health. First, it was very important to us to select a local organization. I like to follow the saying, ‘live here, give here.’

“I had the opportunity to hear a survivor’s story and see what the WCA did for her and her family. The survivor may not have battled cancer or heart disease, [but] she battled for a cause equally as important for her life and her four children. The cure wasn’t medicine, it was her will to survive, the support from those that spend countless hours dedicating their lives to women and children that are victims of domestic violence. If one person leaves a domestic violence situation, this was totally worth it.”

We are thankful for this tremendous show of support from the Hillcrest Women!
