Two Men and a Truck is an active supporter of the Women’s and Children’s Alliance, lending their services time and again to support our clients and our fundraising efforts by picking up and delivering items on a pro bono basis. Most recently, they sponsored a donation drive across the valley called “Movers for Moms” for the WCA’s clients.
During the months of April and May, they placed donation boxes at various businesses in the Boise and Meridian area, including branches of D.L. Evans Bank and Bank of the Cascades. Many new and gently used items were donated by community members, for use by our WCA Serena’s House shelter residents, including pots and pans, silverware, dishes and clothing.
Part of this effort was also special fundraising drive to purchase a wonderful new play kitchen for the secure licensed childcare at Serena’s House. It includes play food and dishes, and even pots and pans! The kitchen is displayed at the 9th and Main Street branch of D.L. Evans bank and donations can be made at any D.L. Evans branch as a special savings account has been set up to fund this purchase.
Terry Bruns, the owner of Two Men And A Truck Boise, explained why they are committed to supporting the WCA and our clients. “Two Men And A Truck Boise is proud to support the Women And Children’s Alliance. Part of our core values is to give back to the communities that we serve. We feel strongly in supporting the Women and Children’s mission of ‘Safety, healing and freedom from domestic abuse and sexual assault.’ We all benefit from stronger, healthier communities.” We are so grateful for their help!
