SCENTSY TO HELP KEEP FAMILIES SAFE, HEALTHY

Scentsy’s fifth annual Rock-a-Thon expected to raise at least $250K for the Women’s and Children’s Alliance

MERIDIAN, Idaho—Idaho’s busiest thoroughfare is about to get even busier. From 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, September 7, Eagle Road will be lined with 70 rocking chairs and more than a thousand volunteers who will keep those chairs rocking nonstop for 12 consecutive hours—all to raise money and awareness for the Women’s and Children’s Alliance.

A fleet of food trucks will also be on-site at the event, with a portion of their sales going to the WCA.

“At Scentsy, we feel it is important to use our resources to help support and strengthen families that will in turn, build a better community,” said Sam Johnson, Scentsy’s Chief of Staff.  “We believe in the work of the WCA.  They have a long history of assisting women and children, giving them a safe place to stay, and the necessary services needed to flourish and build a new life.”

In addition to volunteering at the Rock-a-Thon, Scentsy employees have spent the past few weeks collecting baby food, formula and other necessities to donate to the WCA.

“Thanks to the Scentsy Rock-a-Thon, the WCA will be able to provide more children with our life-changing services of safe shelter, counseling and childcare. Breaking the cycle of abuse for their family will provide them with an opportunity to live a life with the freedom to make their own choices,” said Bea Black, Executive Director of the Women’s and Children’s Alliance.

Once the chairs quit rocking at 8 p.m., the community party will continue with live music, activities for the kids and presentation of the check. Then at 9 p.m., Scentsy will celebrate the day of giving with one of the most spectacular fireworks shows in Idaho.
