SWSMThe Zion’s Bank Smart Women, Smart Money Financial Conference was held on February 16 at the Boise Centre and the WCA is honored to have participated for the past seven years.

At this conference we recognize clients who have graduated from our financial education program led by our Financial Literacy Educator, Deborah DeSousa. They are honored not only for their class completion but also for continuing with coaching sessions to work on goals of paying down debt, addressing housing barriers, finding employment, and opening a savings account. Graduates are presented on stage with a certificate from the Idaho State Treasurer, Ron Crane, as well as a ribbon pin from Idaho Power CEO and WCA Board Member, Darrel Anderson.

This year, a recent client graduate told her story on stage in front of roughly 1,600 attendees. She told us she was so thankful for the opportunity to share her story and appreciative of all the positive comments she received from conference attendees.

Deborah recently received a call from a client about this year’s event. “I am still so energized from the conference and I can’t wait to see what this next year holds for me,” she told her.

Congratulations to all the 2017 client graduates and thank you to our friends at Idaho Power for once again sponsoring our portion of the event!
