Practicing Kindness — Deb’s Daycare
We had a wonderful surprise that lightened our hearts. Children at local in-home daycare were learning about the letter K and in the spirit of “kindness”, they collected new household items and toiletries for our clients. They also made us a beautiful card, with an inspiring message at the end.
Sweet Dreams – Mrs. Frost’s Kindergarten Class at Spalding STEM Academy
The kindergarten class at Spalding STEM Academy did something special for their class Valentine’s Day party. They invited the WCA to come talk about what we do and have the children present new pillow cases they’d each decorated with fabric markers for our residents. What a great way to show kindness and caring for your community, thank you for “Project Pillow Case WCA”!
Thank you Junior League of Boise
More than twenty volunteers from the Junior League of Boise gave us some of their time on President’s Day to help out our Thrift Shop, child care staff and counselors who specialize in play therapy with traumatized children. They sorted and hung clothes for the Shop and wiped down hundreds of books, toys, games, puzzles, tables, chairs and other children’s items. It may not seem like much, but to the staff working each day to help heal children impacted by abuse – it is an invaluable help.
