Rediscovered Books collageOn February 9, Rediscovered Bookshop  held an author event benefiting the WCA. Buzzfeed columnist Anne Helen Petersen discussed her book “Too Fat, Too Slutty, Too Loud,” in which she uses the lens of “unruliness” to examine controversial female figures in pop culture. Title Nine  hosted the event.

Present at the event was Jay Saenz, a great supporter of the WCA and the creator of the project Notes: Messages of Love & Hope. As attendees came in, they were invited to write a note on a typewriter offering support for individuals experiencing or healing from domestic abuse and sexual assault. The notes are inspiring – you can read some of them here.

Rediscovered Bookshop donated $10 from each ticket sale to the WCA. Thank you to Rediscovered Bookshop for your support of the WCA with this event!
