Bea and I were recently invited to bring our “If These Walls Could Talk” Tour in a Box to a nursing class at Carrington College. The Instructor, Lisa Dayley, wanted her students to be aware of the issues of domestic abuse and sexual assault, and the services that the WCA offers to men and women affected by them. Since medical personnel so often encounter patients who have suffered abuse, Lisa felt it was important for them to learn more about the types of abuse—not all abuse is physical, for example—and about the Cycle of Violence.
Not only did Lisa open her classroom to our outreach program through our tour in a box, but she has also become our most recent Ambassador!
If you’d like to know more about our tour in a box, or about the wonderful Ambassador program, please contact me at [email protected] or at 343-3688, Ext. 39. I’d love to talk to you about either, since it’s the most powerful way to partner with the WCA to make our community a safer place for everyone.
