Susan Says: Holiday Thank You

24-Hour Domestic Violence Hotline: 208.343.7025 24-hour Rape Crisis Hotline: 208.345.7273 (RAPE)

Tree-lighting ceremonies, photos with Santa, a gingerbread house—the holidays are upon us! This is truly the most wonderful time of year at the WCA. Those of us lucky enough to work here are so grateful for all of these special experiences. We get to see families’ faces light up when their sponsoring donors bring in the presents they have so hopefully dreamed of.  Santa drops by the shelter and the children get to experience a wonderful party and receive a special gift. It is amazing to see all of the needed items from The Giving Tree at the Grove downtown come in. All of the tags are items needed by the shelter and childcare; it allows for us to be certain we can provide what families require when they come to us in need.

Many supporters in the community have held fundraisers for the WCA, handmade quilts have been donated, wish list drives have been held—the list goes on and on.

There are so many memorable things that happen here! We are always so humbled and grateful at the amazing generosity of our community.  The Treasure Valley is a magical place during the holidays, and that’s proven every day by each of you who made the decision to make a difference for the families here. I wish you could see the faces we get to see.

Thank you, thank you!  Have a peaceful holiday season.
