Back to School ALREADY? Where did the summer go?
It seems that summer just arrived and now the days are already getting shorter and the weather has cooled off. For our clients, WCA Back to School sponsors are making this challenging time a little more manageable. Living in an environment of domestic abuse and experiencing physical and emotional trauma takes its toll on everyone – and especially on a child’s ability to concentrate and do well in school. Thanks to our generous sponsors, children whose moms are taking part in our programs are able to go back to school with all their school supplies taken care of, activity fees paid for, a new backpack and a new set of clothes. Taking care of their physical needs allows them to go back to school feeling comfortable and supported. Helping them and their moms work through their emotional trauma allows them to go back to school feeling more secure and confident! Thank you to all our sponsors for helping our kids start out on the right foot as they enter this new school year.
