It always seems that the change of season comes on so suddenly.  Summer finally gets here and then it is gone and it begins to feel like fall.  Temperatures begin to change – and along with the temperature change so does our perspective.  While 70 degrees in the summer seems cool, once we hit the fall it seems warm!  This change in perspective happens naturally, the temperature hasn’t changed but how we react to it and how we feel about it certainly does.

With respect to domestic abuse, we need a similar change in perspective.  As we look toward October, Domestic Violence Awareness month, we are working to change the conversation from “why does she/he stay” to “why does he/she need to control her/him”?  We can use your ideas and your help as we work to change this conversation.  A change in perspective would be helpful in changing the conversation – how to accomplish that is the challenge!
